Mushroom inoculation and Culture - Jim Moses & Curtis Cluckey

1-4 PM at the Forest Garden Organic Farm on Burdickville Rd., west of Maple City.  A sharing of wisdom and plug/Maple log prep for growing Shitakes.

No fee - our currency is exchange.  There will be a sign-up sheet for volunteer work exchange.

The Bee Garden

Planting a hedgerow for our winged ones.

10-12 AM Class/discussion.

1-3 PM Planting the Bee Garden.

Root Cellar Design - With advice from John Biernbaum, MSU Horticulture

This gathering calls on creative thinkersand builders for developing an on-site plan.  Research the concept online, then unplug and join us for a design charette at the Eco Learning Center.

10AM  Dress for working it out.

Herbs, Teas and Brews - Eco-Learning Center

Come together to identify herbs for seasoning, nutrition, as tea and enjoyment as brew. This event will sample teas from Light of Day Organics, a local biodynamic tea business by Angela Macke. Clay Coutourier - sustainable steward - will help us put to fermentation an herbal beer. Jyane will encourage the nettle tea brew for plant care. Carol Waters will educate us in herbal etiquette and the identification of plants that support our health and well being. Travis Childs will provide edible possibilities with herbs, both common and unusual.
